BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Miz wasn’t the only awesome one in the room at the Arena at Harbor Yard. He was joined by Ellison and Solomon Burt-Murray, WWE’s newest Community Champions.

While attending Raw earlier this year, the New Jersey brothers received certificates from Evan Bourne, WWE Community Champions T-shirts from United States Champion The Miz and a WWE Championship replica title from Mark Henry to honor their outstanding community involvement.

For one year, Ellison, 9, and Solomon, 11, raised money for Minority Athletes Networking etc. Inc. – a local organization founded by former New York Giants team members that provides scholarships to inner city children. To raise money, the brothers organized and hosted fundraisers, received contributions from family members and sacrificed their allowances. The boys even committed to forgoing holiday and birthday gifts for one year in lieu of donations to MAN.

“It started with Solomon asking friends and family to give to MAN instead of giving him presents for his 11th birthday,” the boys’ father, Leonard Murray, said. “Then they continued on and asked family and friends to give $10 a month to the organization. Between donations and their allowance and birthday money, they raised a little over $2,000.”

And the boys’ donation didn’t go unnoticed. Recently, they met with MAN Executive Director, Aaron Martin, who, according to Leonard, was deeply touched and excited about the boys’ work. Martin went as far as to invite Solomon and Ellison to the annual MAN gala in New Jersey on May 4. There, the boys presented the organization with their donation check.

“Solomon and Ellison actually spoke at the dinner and told the story of how they selected MAN, and what they did over the course of the year,” Leonard said. “It was a sight to see and I couldn’t have been prouder.”

Neither could WWE. Thanks, Solomon and Ellison for being true WWE Community Champions!

In order to help the WWE Universe look great at the beach this summer, the Superstars of WWE share nine of their fitness and nutrition tips, presented by “WWE Magazine’s” August issue – on newsstands now.

Calves
“A lot of the driving power in your legs comes from the calves,” Evan Bourne says. “When I perform calf raises, I prefer the machine to free weights because it locks my calves in. Keep the balls of your feet on the platform so you can flex up and down correctly.”

Quads
“It’s simple: you have to squat to get strong legs,” Bourne says. “Keep your back straight, your feet flat and squat as though you’re sitting in a chair. When your legs are parallel to the ground, stop or you’ll put too much pressure on your knees.”

The Miz comes out with his Money in the Bank briefcase in hand. He cut the most memorable promo of the night, claiming that he’d originally planned to cash in his title shot tonight, but then realized he’d never want to win his first WWE Championship in Tallahassee. If he had to win the title in Florida, he’d only consider doing so in Gainesville, since that’s the city of champions. (For those from outside the area, Tallahassee is the home of Florida State University, and Gainesville is host to the rival University of Florida). After some unkind comments about Evan Bourne, he finished by admonishing the crowd that they didn’t deserve to say his catchphrase along with him. Silly heels… that never works.

Bourne and Miz followed up with what was (in my opinion) the best match of the night. I was skeptical about Miz’s in-ring skills for a long time, but the newer, more vicious version we’ve seen of him lately (beginning with his assault on R. Truth a few weeks ago) leaves me looking forward to his matches as much as I do his work on the mic. Bourne was, as always, entertaining as hell; he even threw in one pin attempt I don’t recall ever having seen before (I won’t try to describe it – just know that I couldn’t do it without tearing a hamstring). The finish came when Evan had control of the match and went for Air Bourne. Miz brought his knees up at the last second, then won with the clean pin.
Winner: The Miz.

John Cena, John Morrison and Chris Jericho vs The Nexus.
- They were in control for a few moments, then the faces from tonight’s earlier matches (led by Evan Bourne) all sprinted to the ring to even the score.

Most of Nexus escaped, but the Raw Superstars managed to trap Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. Yoshi and Khali took turns chopping the Nexus members’ chests (Khali ripped Slater’s shirt off before leaving a huge red handprint on his chest). Then Gabriel took an RKO and Slater got an Attitude Adjustment. Finally, Cena laid Slater’s body on top of Gabriel’s so that the crowd could be sent home on an Air Bourne.

Last Wednesday Evan, Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres took part in the Opening Arena Show of the 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree. Here we have 6 UHQ candids from the Event. All three look great! I’m so glad WWE sends their superstars to such events, lets just hope that maybe Evan finaly gets his wish and gets sent with Tribute to the Troops this year. Enjoy guys.
